Sarah Jane's work begins with her close attention to light.  She uses composition and movement to make photographs that carry the wonder and the emotions she senses in a place or people.  The most important part of her process lies in participating and asking questions that help understand what or whom she is photographing. 

Our senses and associations transport us back to precise moments in time.  Sarah Jane's most prominent food memories hark back to her childhood, and believes this to be true for most people.  Those memories are what drive her to create photographs that will cause a very visceral memory in the viewer.

Sarah Jane is particularly drawn to the full circle of food as a lens for focusing on culture.  From origin, to processing, to the table, food is a universal language that bridges cultural boundaries.  Sarah Jane is compelled to make photographs that tell stories, answer questions and express beauty, and aim to produce photographs that spark connections, build and recall memories, and celebrate daily life.

Sarah Jane resides in the beautiful state of Kentucky where she is a loving wife, proud momma, and nature enthusiast.
